Whatever Tickles Your Fancy, Christy Moore's third album was his first after his first departure from Planxty, in the mid-'70s. Perhaps feeling a bit as if he should try to please all folk factions, the LP was divided into an acoustic side Tippin' It Up to Nancy, in fact, features nothing but his voice and bodhran and an electric one. Rearrangements of traditional material dominated the song list, although it also included a couple of Ewan MacColl tunes and, most surprisingly, a cover of Mountain's One Last Cold Kiss. Whatever Tickles Your Fancy is the third solo album by Irish folk musician Christy Moore, released in 1975. Since his last album Prosperous in 1972, Christy had recorded three albums with Planxty. Through playing with Jimmy Faulkner, Declan McNelis, and later Kevin Burke, they soon started to form the basis for an album recording. The album was recorded in Ashling Studios in Rathgar. Christy Moore - Whatever Tickles Your Fancy Album. Artist: Christy Moore. Album: Whatever Tickles Your Fancy. I had the album 'Whatever Tickles Your Fancy' a long time ago on vinyl. Recently I had an interest to hear the track 'What Put The Blood' again so I ended up buying this 'double' cd. Whatever Tickles Your Fancy' has stood the test of time. Apart from 'What Put The Blood' most of the rest of the tracks are classic 'Moore' including the inspired version of 'One Last Cold Kiss', a classic from US rockers Mountain, performed as only Christy can. The second disc, the eponymous Christy Moore is the best album of modern Irish folk songs I've ever heard. It's simply perfect.
