"You Can Play These Songs With Chords" was originally released as a cassette in 1997 on Elsinor Records. 'President Of What,' Champagne From A Paper Cup,' 'Pictures In An Exhibition,' 'Amputations,' and 'Line Of Best Fit' were re-recorded in 1998 for "Something About Airplanes". The original mixes of 'Wait' and 'Prove My Hypothesis' are on a 7" single released in 1999 on Sonic Boom Recordings. The original mix of 'Army Corps Of Architects' was the B-Side of the March 2000 Sub Pop Singles Club 7". A new recording of 'Song For Kelly Huckaby' was released in 2000 on "The Death Cab For Cutie Forbidden Love E.P."
