Fleet Foxes- Helplessness Blues 2011 Sub Pop Support the Foxes. I hope you enjoy this amazing album. I don't really have a favorite track off it, all of them are standouts to Blues is the second studio album by American indie folk band Fleet Foxes, released on May 3, 2011 on Sub Pop and Bella Union. Much like its predecessor Fleet Foxes 2008, Helplessness Blues received universal acclaim from critics, going on to be nominated for Best Folk Album for the 54th Grammy Awards. The release peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200, the band's highest position on the chart to date. Helplessness Blues by Fleet Foxes, released 02 May 2011 1. Montezuma 2. Bedouin Dress 3. Jake Williams You know the saying sequels can never hold a candle to the original films, right Well in this rare case in the musical sense. Helplessness Blues. Fleet Foxes. Released May 3, 2011. Helplessness Blues Tracklist. Astral Weeks was a big inspiration on this album, if not always in sound then in approach. The raw emotion in Van Morrisons vocals and the trance-like nature of the arrangements were very inspiring for this album Musically it leans on country music a little bit more, in the slide guitar of songs like Grown Ocean and Bedouin Dress or Helplessness Blues. Genre: Indie Folk. Far from that folksy, laid-back image, Helplessness Blues confirms Fleet Foxes' place as one of the most exacting, creative, and straight-up best bands making music in 2011. Full Review. Fleet Foxes' unpretentious, crowd-pleasing directness was the key to their rapid rise. Their Sun Giant EP and self-titled debut LP, both released in 2008, brimmed with inviting melodies, evocative lyrics, and open-armed harmonizing that seemed designed to reach a wide variety of listeners. Their bright folk-rock sound wasn't exactly cool, but that was sort of the point- it's familiar in the most pleasing way, lacking conceit or affectation. Helplessness Blues is the second studio album by Seattle-based folk band Fleet Foxes release: May 02, 2011 on Bella Union - leaked almost six weeks prior to the release. Initially, Robin Pecknold had stated he would like the album to be released in 2009 however, the band's touring schedule had caused them some setbacks. They got together to rehearse new songs in February 2009 in a rented house outside Seattle, but the sessions were mostly scrapped. Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues review: The next classic addition to America's great, historic folk canon. Since Francis J. Child, the great British folk song collector, traveled to America and based the Appalachian folk

At first I felt this album inferior to Fleet foxes - Fleet Foxes but after 2 more spins I retract that and say it might even be better. A release just as well made as the one before. Certain spots of the record are riddled with more clicks and pops but overall its not too bad of a pressing, although could certainly be better. Luckily songs like Blue Spotted Tail are completely free of them. The mastering however is quite spot on. If you liked their first album dont hesitate with this release. Just give it a few go's.

My copy is impeccable! Couldn't be happier with it! Also beautiful packaging!
This EU press sounds great, nice STERLING stamper in deadwax.
