A new exciting release from veteran The Hacker (Miss Kittin even makes a vocal appearance on the track Time X). Very 80s vintage sounding, it is both unforgivably thumping in feel, charmingly respectful in style and still strangely modern in expression.
The Hacker has made an excellent choice in "limiting" himself to analogue equipment for this release and the resulting sonics simply emanate vintage warmth and organic touch.
It never gets cheesy and it hints at how fun the old-school was before to much focus on digital synthesizer experiments really started killed the warmth of the fire and corporate interests harvested our logs for profit.
The vinyl is top-notch quality as usual with Dark Entries Records releases. The records sound excellent, they are all cut at DJ style 45 RPM speed, have smoothed edges and comes with excellent artwork and extras.
High recommendations all around and do get it on vinyl.
A solid & decent LP of throbbing Techno, which will satisfy every hardcore Hacker fan.

No track really stands out, but perhaps that's the point. This is serious, full-on, no nonsense stuff.

Even the Miss Kittin collaboration is kept to a minimum, with her vocals merely a narrative to the rigidity.

Don't expect much melody, you'll get none.

This is stern-faced music, very much dancefloor orientated.

The Hacker has decided to concentrate on grooves for now, not beauty.
Again a big "hommage'' to Gerald Donald, Drexciya and all the swimmers.
From cover to music, we are in the aquatique ZONE.
The Hacker ... Always robotic and synthetic.
